the First International Academic Conference

Evaluation of the Quality of Scientific Publishing Vessels in Arab Countries

Reality and Intention

Germany; Berlin 01-02/04/2019

Vision:

Broadcasting of research results, studies, reports and scientific books is necessary to spread knowledge and contribute to its cumulative crystallization. In this regard, universities, research laboratories, research centers and researchers are seeking to publish their scientific research within the various academic publishing tools that adopt scientific standards, such as specialized scientific journals or books for the purpose of exchanging knowledge and results to ensure the effectiveness of studies and research and the integration of its results and to achieve its objectives. Scientific journals and specialized journals are a source of scientific information. Scientific publishing is one of the most important mechanisms for enriching scientific knowledge and knowledge exchange, as well as publishing houses in the classification of universities and scientific and research institutions and arranging them on the Arab and international levels. although the quantitative rate of scientific publication is very important, the scientific and academic value of research and studies, and the value of the vessels in which it is published is of more importance. This is why all scientific centers and institutions are concerned about the scientific value of the studies published

Despite the efforts and energies to upgrade the academic publishing vessels in the Arab countries, they are confronted with many challenges and obstacles, which are mainly the failure of the publishing vessels in Arab countries to comply with internationally recognized standards. This has negatively affected their classification in international journals that have laboratories High Impact. This is in addition to the monopoly of specific institutions for the classification of journals and periodicals based on unfair and impossible conditions which may not be related to the quality of scientific publishing, which has deprived them of this right, especially that the attempts made in this area are still useless and their effects are very limited In the absence of confidence of academics.

This poses a challenge as long as it exists, finding suitable scientific tools for the dissemination of scientific and research production, regardless of the publication model it adopts. With databases that classify reliable vessels and measure their performance levels based on clear criteria such as editorial level, commitment to peer arbitration, and the number of readings and citations obtained by periodicals and books, the potential audience may have these tools and others to select the appropriate vessels to disseminate their scientific output.

Training Course

The Principles of Academic Review of Academic Research

On the sidelines of the International Conference, the Center organizes a free training course for the participants, entitled “The Principles of Academic Review of Academic Research”, with the presence of number of lecturers from various Arab and European universities. The course is a continuation of the conference’s aims and objectives.

The academic review of academic research is the most important way to assess and evaluate the academic output and quality examination and the extent of the researcher’s commitment to academic standards and controls. Review is the process of subjecting academic production to researchers for careful examination by experts to find and address the weaknesses. The academic review is the essence of research development.
